A first-winter WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW visited our Eugene/Santa Clara-area
backyard this morning. This is the earliest appearance of this species by
11 days in 25 years of keeping records at this location. Everything in the
garden is two to three weeks early, so maybe the birds are too...
