[obol] Do bird specimens really matter in this modern day and age?

Of course most of us know that bird populations are shrinking. What is so
significant and interesting here is that Evolution could be documented in
such a tiny incremental way. Almost unbelievable but the evidence that they
gathered seems incontrovertible.
Sorry in spite of myself I used the word Evolution when perhaps I should
have said adaptation but only because evolution is sometimes confused with
speciation which is not involved here.
