We spent the morning on foot with birds. At First Street we birded both sides of the river. We found the BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE 3 times in about a 30 minute period as it moved about with a flock of Bushtits and Mountain Chickadees on the east side of the river, close to the start of the trail. It was vocalizing especially when down next to the river in a small alder. Two BALD EAGLES flew overhead while we were there, the only raptors of the morning. Shevlin was quiet but we explored the tiny burn across the creek from Aspen Hall and found 2 Hairy's and a Downy working the burned trees. This is the spot Ned Austin mentioned a few months ago, recently burned.
