Barry McKenzie and I spend the morning in the Tumalo Falls area. We spent
time at the bridge before the gate, up 430 and walked to the falls. We had 3
Pine Grosbeaks calling while they flew over us at the bridge. They perched
briefly. Not the spectacle Peter witnessed. No woodpeckers were seen.

Subject: [obol] Deschutes County, Local RBA, Pine Grosbeaks, 3-toed, in
Skyliner area

(Skyliner is up toward Tumalo Falls. From Bend, go out Galveston 10 miles
west, to the gated end)
Peter Low just called to report twenty six PINE GROSBEAKS near the bridge,
some even perched on the railing. There is even a male THREE-TOED WOODPECKER
close by. Also, he was up on the 430 road and had 10 more PINE GROSBEAKS and
another (female) Three-toed Woodpecker. The Pine Grosbeaks were vocalizing.
Peter is still in the area, so phones work up there this year! Judy,
