Coming back from the coast, I was greeted by a large mixed chickadee flock
in the pines outside our place on Witham Hill - numerous Black-caps, half a
dozen Chestnut-backs and - finally! - one MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE, along with
Red-breasted Nuthatches, creepers and kinglets. After a while, the flock
moved off to the north.
I was pretty sure I heard a Mountain Chickadee a few days ago, and I'm
happy I was able to finally confirm it.
