Saw my first WILSON'S PHALAROPE on the N. Spit of Coos Bay early AM at the
old Weyco settling pond site where they have bred most years since 2003.
This bird was a bit on the early side compared to other years.
Also a very light-colored MERLIN zoomed through while I was out there and
sure looked like the Prairie subspecies, a rarity in Coos.
