The Winter lakes portion of the Coquille Valley Wildlife Area north of
Coquille has decent shorebird habitat at the moment. Yesterday, Robyn and I
spent some time there in the drizzling rain and were rewarded with our first
county SOLITARY SANDPIPER and 3 beautiful RED-NECKED PHALAROPES. There are
numerous WESTERN and LEAST SANDPIPERS, and GREATER YELLOWLEGS, a few DUNLIN and
a few flyover SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS.We accessed the area from a the small lot
off of North Bank Lane.Don HeniseMyrtle Point, ORkiskadee3@xxxxxxx
