Teak and I were out on the north spit of Coos Bay in the afternoon. We
walked out the north trail by the old Weyco pond where we saw at least 15+
broods of GADWALL. The single oversummering BUFFLEHEAD was still around. On
the way back we saw a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD fly by then head west and north
along the north dike there. This is just a couple miles north of where Joe
Metzler saw a bird earlier in the week, which may be the same bird?
Shorebird wise we saw about 20 Western Sands and heard at least two G.
Yellowlegs, the southbound migration is picking up!
