Bill Bridgeland has a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW coming to his feeder in Bandon
for the past week or so.
The KING EIDER was off Fossil Point this morning- we had great light and
had walked out to the point so the bird was fairly close. 40 BRANT in the
same area. When our local Audubon group went to Charleston we found the
LONG-TAILED DUCK pretty quickly north of the Pt. Adams road. We watched for
a while and eventually all three LT Ducks were in view.
I was out on the south end of the N Spit of Coos Bay later in the PM. On
the beach north of the jetty I found:
50- Sanderling
30- Semipalmated Plovers
20- Snowy Plovers
10- Western Sandpipers
The beach here is one of the best spots to find Western Sands in the
county in the winter.
