struck a flock of Robins around 10am today, and stood in the yard holding
its prey down for several minutes while devising its next move.
My initial thought was Sharpie based on the sloping vs crested back of
head, continuous grey from cap to nape, eye more centered vs closer to
beak, and overall size compared to the robin.
My husband however felt this was a Coopers, based on size...which he felt
was larger than a Sharpie, the dark grey cap with lighter grey nape and
tubular body shape (I tend to agree on the last point).
I'd still like some others thoughts, since this can be a tough one
identify at times. Unfortunately based on where he landed I wasn't able to
get a good look at his tail.
