COMMON SCOTER 10 AM today, near the rocks. A dozen or more RED PHALAROPES
in gull puddles and even on the road at the South Jetty, Newport, I had to
stop and wait for them to get out of the way in order to keep from running
over two of them as they have no knowledge of cars or pavement, the tide
was the highest I've seen it yet, nearly to the pavement of S Jetty Rd. I
could not find any Ancient Murrelets at Boiler Bay, but lots of BONAPARTES
GULLS there and one SABINE'S that I saw, along with RED PHALAROPES
everywhere making their way slowly south.
