"Precariously Set" near the top of the trees was where the older couple
said I would find their nests in the park if I was patient.

Two years ago I was escorted to views of a nesting pair of Common Raven in
Tryon State Park. While straining to get into position to get a photograph
of the nest, an older couple passed by and said, "you won't see much of
them - but if you're here when their feeding the young you can't miss the
racket".
I can't speak to the veracity of their report, but they did go on to
describe in detail the location of two previous nest locations. They had
been walking the trails there well before the park became a park in 1969.
