Columbia Estuary Report - 11/15/2015

The COMMON GROUND DOVE was reported from along Wireless Rd by Stefan
Schlick this afternoon (around 14:00). Considerable coverage earlier in
the morning by multiple observers failed to produce the bird, however.
It's a sneaky little thing.

Two TROPICAL KINGBIRDS were working the fence-line along the straight
stretch of Wireless and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW sporting only one tail
feather is coming to seed near the cyclone fence. There is also at
least one and possible two BLACK PHOEBES in the area ranging widely
between the gull barn and the horse corral.

Tropical Kingbirds also continue to be reported from the Washington
side. A sizable MARBLED GODWIT flock continues at Ilwaco and a SORA
was heard whinnying in a wetland near Nahcotta.

There has been considerable flooding from the 7+ inches of rain that
we've been enjoying over the past couple days. Lots of ducks and geese
in unusual places...
