Robyn and I saw a Clay-colored Sparrow just an hour ago near the Coos
County Fairgrounds in Myrtle Point. It was seen at the south end of 6th
street where the road curves to go down to the fairgrounds. There is an
opening in the fence there that goes into the fairgrounds with a camper
just inside the fence. The bird was initially seen just outside the
fence along the road. It then moved back up towards the corner and was
last seen going into the woods on the south side of the road when it and
the other sparrows it was associating with (White-crowneds and Oregon
Juncos) were flushed from the edge of the road by several vehicles.
Unfortunately it didn't pose for any pics before disappearing.
