There was a well described bird seen on the Columbia Estuary Count (mid-December) a couple years back, but I don't recall any in January. Birds on Sand Island produced chicks very late into the season last summer which kept many bird lingering into late-October. This may have been young bird that failed to depart. This is one of those cases where it would be useful to have access to the metadata (including particulars of the observer) that are often difficult to extract from ebird accounts. -- Mike Patterson Astoria, OR On watch in the Seawatch http://www.surfbirds.com/community-blogs/northcoastdiaries/?p=1506 OBOL archives: www.freelists.org/archive/obol Manage your account or unsubscribe: //www.freelists.org/list/obol Contact moderators: obol-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
