At Rentenaar Road this morning (Sauvie Island, Columbia Co.) I came upon on
odd-looking
duck, consorting with a male CANVASBACK. It had the body and bill of a female
Ring-necked
Duck, but the red eye and head shape of a Canvasback. I'm guessing that it was
a female
hybrid CANVASBACK X RING-NECKED DUCK.
