I also had a horned lark on the dike about 150 yards west of the barn. It flew
toward the bare spot in the field to the north of the dike.

After four tries I got lucky! Really I am sure the weather helps. At the
barn look for a tire in the piles of rubbish along the small road next to the
dike. To the right of the tire look for a small rock with white wash on it.
The owls head was poking out just to the right and a bit below that white
washed rock. Good luck.
