I went looking for Andy's Plover with no luck. The water level was the
lowest I have ever seen it. I was able to walk from the gull roost all the
way to slightly past sea scout base on the "beach." I was unable to find
any cool plovers, but I did scare away a bakers dozen of killdeer.
Blah blah blah, about half a mile past sea scout base I stopped to give
up. Stared into the distance, contemplated my time as a birder and then
heard a weird call.
It was a Solitary Sandpiper! Wow, an Oregon/Multnomah county first for me.
It had a bum leg and was hopping around, Andy said he normally sees them on
the beach, so we can hope as the tide goes up that it will go to the gull
roost/spit area... but who knows really.
Anyway. I saw a bird, here is a photo.
