Hi Lars,
I live about a mile away from the warbler location. The main roads are
easily traveled without studs. There is definitely a lot of packed
snow/ice on the main roads as well as quite a bit of bare pavement. The
side streets have more snow and ice, but if you travel during the mid-day
everybody is getting around pretty good. The warbler is only one block off
of Macadam Ave. which is well traveled and with all the people visiting the
warbler house, I imagine the immediate side streets around there are OK
too. Just use the main roads as much as possible, and go slow especially
through the I-5 Terwilliger curves area which has been troublesome in
weekday rush hour with all the semi trucks.
Good birding, Beverly

I, too, am thinking of going to Portland tomorrow to try to see the BB
warbler. I was wondering what the road conditions are like in the area. I
have winterized tires but no studs.
Thanks!
