Wow Kevin, that would be a humongous flock on the coast even! Pretty cool.

Yesterday I made a quick count of the Black-bellied Plover flock that has
been in an alfalfa field for about a week, and about a half mile east from
Merrill, Klamath County, on the south side of Hwy 139.
The flock is roughly 1380, with one count at 1480 and a second count, over
1320. The rough count is still the largest concentration of this species I
have ever seen in Klamath County in the more than 25 years I've lived here.
I've seen large flocks in the county before, on rare occasions in the
past, with numbers in the 5-800, but this flock was well over those times.
