I walked 3/4 of a mile in 1 hour and 30 minutes in Talking Waters the
Albany equivalent of a miracle with sewer and industrial wastewater, noting
over 40 species of birds. It takes me that long to walk that far these
days. Not just that I am bird watching and trying to go slow, I do not
walk well anymore, I got old or so it seems. MARSH WRENS were singing
everywhere at all times. About two OSPREY were overhead and noisy most of
the time. What a great day, it is a day like this tells us how birding is
something we can always do and it is an art and a science and a hobby or
pastime. A GREAT BLUE HERON flew through my backyard and that hardly ever
happens
I started to write this to echo what Dave irons said on Obol today, on
eBird it is probably best to avoid reporting subspecies or forms unless you
have expertise or photos..
I believe in subspecies, I was accused of not for a criticism I have made,
it is that you should not report subspecies or other forms based on where
you are. Mostly always leave that option 'off' when submitting an eBird
report
