The sun came out, the weather warmed, and I counted 35 species just walking our
Sauvie Island property today. And the day is not yet over.

Canada Goose
Cackling goose
Mallard
Am Wigeon
Green-winged teal
Pintail
Cooper’s hawk
Northern harrier
Bald eagle
Sandhill crane
Anna’s hummingbird
Downy woodpecker
Pileated woodpecker
N. Flicker
American kestrel
Peregrine falcon
California scrub-jay
American crow
Black-capped chickadee
Bushtit
White-breasted nuthatch
Bewick’s wren
Ruby-crowned kinglet
American robin
European starling
Fox sparrow
Song sparrow
Dark-eyed junco
white-throated sparrow
Golden-crowned sparrow
Spotted towhee
Red-winged blackbird
House finch
American goldfinch
Lesser goldfinch

Might still get a GBH, great egret, RT hawk, brown creeper and/or
golden-crowned kinglet before the day is done. I’ll keep looking. But this has
been the most productive birding day of the year, thus far.
