Yes, J.J. Audubon named the bird after Thomas Bewick, a personal friend, and
well-known artist.

If you don�t know who Thomas Bewick was, check him out. Incredible 18th century
British naturalist and wildlife illustrator. Imagine creating these fantastic
images on blocks of wood!
