On my Dallas feed run today, I swung through Coville Rd. and looked for the Shrike. Didn't find it. The field behind the willow hedge had just been fertilized. Maybe that drove the shrike elsewhere. A meadowlark was singing non-stop in the field by the Baskett Butte trail parking lot. Farther east on Coville Rd., a Horned Lark was singing near the road in the wetland at the corner of Hwy 99W and Coville Rd. Lots of waterfowl as others have reported, including about a zillion white-cheeked geese.
