The weather radar images at dawn today, Sept 19, 2018, shows multiple
locations in Yamhill, Polk, Clackamas, and Marion counties with the
signature of a burst of birds flying out from a roost. We know from
experience that the burst in Yamhill county is a large fall gathering of
BARN SWALLOWS flying out of a cornfield.
See the two images from 6:40 and 6:49 AM that show bursts of birds at the
karats.
The large roost south of Dayton in Yamhill county.
Another small burst between Rickreal and Salem.
Clackamas county near Aurora.
Marion county east of Jefferson. This has been seen in previous years.
Local birders may want to check these areas for cornfields at dusk this
evening!
