This evening at about 8:15 I visited the north side of the Stewart Pond area,
off W. 5th and Wallis. I was standing nearly at the top of the ramp to the
viewing area, watching the action in the wet area to the south. I saw a
swallow with a brown back and white front, and immediately noticed how much
smaller it was than the Tree Swallow that was next to it. Then I got a look at
its front, and saw the dark breast band. Bank Swallow! It turned an average
outing into a splendid one.
