On September 10th I observed and photographed 4 Baird's Sandpipers in dense
beach fog at Sandpiper Village near Waldport. One of the birds had a white
streamer-like thing stuck to it near the vent. After reviewing the
photographs on the computer it appears the white object with some pink
tones is protruding from the cloaca (see attached). I don't know if this is
a prolapsed intestine, parasite or something else. Comments welcomed.
