Stejneger's is likely as good of a split as Velvet is from White-winged.
With a California record of Common Scoter last winter, and an Oregon record
of apparently a different individual this winter, perhaps all three of the
subject forms discussed in the article are likely to occur in Oregon.
White-winged is of course common in Oregon.  All three have been seen in
the flocks of the British and Irish coasts.
