Actually looking at these photos and thinking about it I'm pretty sure the
top two photos are one bird & the bottom two are a second bird.

If I go back to the slide boxes I could figure out
all the dates, eventually I could do that.
The dark feathering around the eyes is not as marked on
these. Perhaps this is later in January and it's starting
to fade or wear off. In breeding plumage it's gone.
You can see their inconspicuous white eyes now
and also note their pinkish legs.
Note how much darker one is than the another,
this is not a lighting effect.
Note they are pretty much Herring Gull size
with similar thin, straight bills.
This is all pretty typical of the 'many' Slaty-backs
then.
