I'm on a boat right now about a mile off shore and we have scattered individual
fork-tailed storm-petrels following the boat between Yaquina Head and Depoe
Bay. One bird was between the jetties in Newport and some of our crew led by
Mike Parker saw one this afternoon near Idaho Point inside Yaquina Bay. That
bird was likely sick as they approach within feet of it as it sat on the water.

If you look at the weather, tomorrow's wind speed and direction suggest that
it could be a good day for shorebird migration, so if you are on coast, look
for moving birds.
