On my morning walk around the Mingus Park neighborhood in Coos Bay I found
two small flocks of LESSER GOLFINCHES. This is a local species around the
bay area and is much more common inland in the county. They do occasionally
breed in town and last summer they did so in my neighborhood. I always
consider it a good find when I see/ hear them in this area though.
Heard my first singing TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS of the spring this morning too.
Merry migration!
