Adrian Hinkle texted me last night and said that he and his brother and mom
had 7 Western Kingbirds at Yaquina Head that evening (they are doing a Big
Day/Birdathon today and don't have a way to post right now).
That's a lot of kingbirds in one spot - anywhere in Western Oregon!

Hi,
This morning at about 9:30, Chuck Philo saw 5 Western Kingbirds at
Yaquina Head. They were about 100 yards west of the Fee Station at
the Entrance and on the upward hill. That is a good number at once
for Lincoln County.
On May 11, Chuck also saw a Spotted Sandpiper on the dry sand below
the dunes at South Beach State Park. During their spring migration in
May, Spotted Sandpipers sometimes show up at unexpected places along
the open coast, including sandy beaches and rocky intertidal.
