of that bird had been taken on 12-31-76 and Fred Ramsey's book suggested it
was around for "more than two weeks," and that was all fine with me because
my memory only vaguely suggests it was during Winter. But now you are tying
it in with the annual Corvallis Audubon Malheur trip that year. Aren't those
trips taken in the month of May? I guess "more than two weeks" is open-ended
enough to include May, but was that fine bird really with us for that long?
Alan Contreras said he remembers seeing that bird too. Maybe he can help us
get a finer point on just how long that special visitor from the south
stayed around.
