I am attaching, for reference, my “call to action” e-mail of November 30, 2017.
I noted our commitment of 35 blood donations for 2017, and that with our 28
registered donations we needed only seven more.
An updated report, dated yesterday, shows that we’ve creeped up to 29

Only six….only six more of our sizeable membership need to take an hourish out
of your schedule over the coming couple weeks to meet our commitment.

There are a number of things OBE, as a group, contributes to the wellbeing of
our community.
One of them is giving blood.
We are registered as a "Partner for Life" with Canadian Blood Services. Any
time any one of us donates blood, that donation is tallied up with all other
donations by registered OBE members.
Our commitment for 2017 was for 35 blood donations, which for a group our size
is a modest one. It's modest because while some are ineligible to donate
because of various reasons, I expect the majority of us can....and up to 6
donations can be made per year (one every 56 days provided iron levels remain
healthy).
As of November 27, 2017, we are sitting at 28 donations. Here is a web site

All we need is for 7 of us to pop in to a blood donor clinic between now and
the end of 2017 to meet our commitment. Of course, the more the better,
though. It takes no longer than perhaps 1.5 hours (I've done it in less than
an hour during a slow time).
There's no need to pre-book! Kelowna clinic dates / times are
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and every 2nd Saturday 9:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (9:00 a.m. Saturday morning is a brilliant time to go!).
