We use Aruba throughout the enterprise with coverage extending into our Jail.
Jail construction presents some coverage challenges, but nothing of an
intermittent nature.
I’ll be glad to get you in contact with someone on our team who can talk
specifics of configuration and issues.

Subject: [oagitm] wifi in jail
Hello OAGITM! I hope to see many of you at the conference in a couple weeks.
Until then, we have an Aruba iAP system in our Jail that is causing fits. A
signal analysis looks good, but we get random connection drops, which log staff
out of the JMS system they run on tablets. After a few seconds or so (3-20s),
the connection will re-stablish, but even a quick blip is enough to trigger the
logout on the JMS. We've had the original contractors adjust the system but
nothing they have done seems to have worked.
Some of the potential contractors I've talked to said the concrete jail
construction is likely the problem...but if that's the case, no one else could
make it work either, right? So - does anyone else run wifi successfully in a
jail? If so, what system do you use and how do you have it set up? Do you run a
JMS on it?
I appreciate whatever help I can get.
Thanks!
