The United States, United Kingdom, Australia and dozens of major agencies and corporations have already agreed to cooperate in defining and promoting the most effective controls for computer and network security and the most rapid ways to deploy them. The SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls, as well as, the Australian 35 Strategies to Mitigate Targeted Cyber Intrusions will be the baseline of high-priority information security measures and controls that can be applied across an organization in order to improve its cyber defense. On November 5th at 8:00 AM PDT, Sager will conduct a media briefing with representatives of the consortium participants including Eric Cole on the 20 Critical Controls, Alan Paller the FCC initiative, and other a list of speakers on the 35 mitigations and other initiatives which promise to have profound positive impact on our cyber security posture. State, local, and territorial governments that have implemented or are in the process of implementing the 20 critical controls are invited to join the media event and Tony's group.
