Members!
I'm passing along some information about an effort to expand OSU's Oregon
Research and Teaching Security Operations Center (ORTSOC), with a request for
your brief participation in their survey.
ORTSOC is a training opportunity for OSU students in the cybersecurity track
that allows them to apply concepts learned in the classroom to a real world
setting. This program has helped students enrich their educational experience
and made graduates more appealing to prospective employers. Currently, the
program can only accommodate a handful of students at a time, but OSU would
like to expand that capacity...which is where you come in.
The program leaders are interested in the potential of developing a consortium
of currently underserved (from an information security standpoint)
organizations - education institutions, regional and local government agencies,
and not-for-profits, to create a big enough base to increase the program
capacity, while offering the participants security services through ORTSOC.
They're currently working with the Impact Studio at OSU to move the concept
into reality. You can get more information about the status of the project
here:

As part of the Impact Studio process, they're conducting a survey to evaluate
the demand for an array of cyber security services. If you would like to help,
please respond to the survey using the link below. Responses are needed fairly
quickly, by close of business Friday, January 8th.
