An analyst from the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC)
emailed the following info. Since her initial email, other fusion centers are
now responding that they have seen this same scam email. Forwarding for your
FYSA and RFI to see if you/your agency have received a similar communication.
Multiple NCRIC partners have reported receipt of a possible scam email
referencing BlueLeaks on 01/12/2021. Reported emails contain the title "What
are your thoughts on the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capital?" and claim to
be from the news organization "The Intercept" using the email
<<no-reply=theinterceptsurvey.com[@]mg.theinterceptsurvey.com>>. The emails
state that the recipient's email address was obtained via NCRIC data exposed in
the BlueLeaks data breach in June, 2020 and asks the recipient to click on a
link to complete a survey.
Has anyone else received similar reports?
