We recently revisited this subject as the price of the medication has jumped
drastically. We have an active pediatric lead program. We considered the
prospects of not keeping the drug on hand and resorting to urgent deliveries
from our wholesaler. However, the potential leg time outside of normal
business hours and/or the prospect of the wholesaler being temporarily out led
us to conclude that we need to keep a minimal supply on hand. Another
institution with a different population burden might arrive at a different
conclusion.
