Bellevue is in the process of rolling out Pyxis to it's Mental health units after a successful campaign on the Medical / Surgical side of our facility. Having rolled out the equivalent of your size institution over the past month (with another 275 beds remaining), we have had a first class experience and our nursing staff has had nothing but positive words about the change from a cart exchange system to one using cabinets for 95% of their medication. A to e-prescribing, while both the NYS Senate and Assembly have approved a one year postponement, the bill has yet to be signed by the Governor (at least to our knowledge). I believe he received the bills on Monday and has 10 days to sign. Please remember that e-prescribing is an important component of meaningful use, so many hospitals will move forward to gain the required percentages for that issue. For a small inpatient psychiatric hospital…..124 beds. I have experience with Pyxis, however would like to know if any Directors have other experiences that they would or would not recommend. Also, we have received unofficial notification that the March deadline for E-Prescribing has been postponded until 2016. We are already e-prescribing using a program which is due for renewal in three months…..Does anyone have any official information regarding the March 27, 2015 deadline and the postponement? Thank you all. Adele Adele M.
