Good Morning, Below and attached you will find a lot of good info about the current legislative session in Kansas and what can/will affect Kansas Libraries. Thank you, George From: owner-KANLIB-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-KANLIB-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gail Santy Sent: Tuesday, February 5, 2013 9:55 AM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: [KANLIB-L:24547] KLA legislative report Last week saw the end of the third week of the 2013 legislative session. In this week's newsletter, Jennie Adams Rose reports on topics of interest to libraries: Kan-Ed needs assessment; firearms; knives; sales tax. I attached the Kan Ed needs assessment report. Please take a look. I just received an email from Jennie... She says budget hearings for the State Library in both the House and Senate have gone well. The House approved the Governor's recommendation (including $800,000 for databases) and the Senate committee indicates they will approve the same tomorrow morning. Keep up the good advocacy work!
