Hello all,
I don't know if this is the right place or I should have filed a ticket
for it, but I've found a bug with the interpretation of the
"characterDescriptions.dic" file from NVDA.
The bug is the following. If the character that has to be phonetically
described is in upper case, the description will not work. In such a
case, when the command to phonetically describe a character, a word or a
line is executed, NVDA will not phonetically describe the character(s),
but will spell them instead. And by "spell" I mean pronounce the
character itself again if it is a single one or pronounce the set of
characters slowly one by one without their phonetic description. If the
characters in the "characterDescriptions.dic" file are in lower case,
the function works as expected. I've tested this with the bulgarian
characters only, but I guess that will affect all languages. Can anybody
else reproduce this?
______
Best wishes,
Kostadin Kolev
