Hi,
Actually, you can suggest new add-ons here, provided that the user creates a ticket on the NVDA site. What ends up happening is that someone would create an add-on for something, then the add-on code is integrated into core NVDA code (this has happened before). The problem is that some sites still shows older version of the add-on with no footnotes that the add-on is part of some NVDA version (BrailleNote driver is a classic example).

There are circumstances when new add-ons can be suggested:
1. If there is a ticket for the feature you want, such as new braille display or synth support. In case of braille display driver, one needs to have access to such a display or ask someone who uses the display to test the add-on for you. In case of synth support, the add-on writer may need to talk with original maker of the synthesizer (more so if it is a commercial one such as Vocalizer). 2. If there is a overwhelming support or a need for such add-on for users. Of course, the final decision on whether an idea becoming an add-on (and the resulting add-on being accepted) is up to you (users and add-on writers), the members of NVDA user community, as add-ons are made by community for benefit of NVDA community. But as for app modules like the original suggestion (if we got the picture right), the probability of this becoming an add-on increases unless the app developer makes the program more accessible for NVDA (and other screen reader) users (which is the policy from NV Access as well).

I guess a general survey on add-on addition policy is in order...
Cheers,
Joseph

If I understoud the list rules correctly this mailinglist isn't for requesting addons. You could create a Ticket and someone would wright an
addon if he/she wants.

Hi
Could a developer here make an addon for the mumble chat client? with NVDA it is slow reading the screen and NVDA lags for some reason.

thanks
