Hi everyone,
As noted a few days ago, the Freelists version of NVDA Add-ons list has been
deprecated, replaced by the Groups.IO. Although the official switchover date
is July 1, 2017, I'd like to request that we move traffic from the Freelists
to Groups.IO. The new list site is
https://nvda-addons.groups.io/g/nvda-addons.
A few updates and announcements:
* There will be a final list deprecation reminder in about two weeks
from today.
* No new subscribers or posts will be allowed on this list,
effective immediately. This includes add-on release announcements and review
requests. If you need to make release announcements or requesting add-on
reviews, please do so on the Groups.IO forum, and in case of releases and
you're not part of the Groups.IO list yet, please write to me privately. Any
new posts sent here will NOT make it to the Groups.IO archive.
* This NVDA-Addons list (on Freelists) will officially close its
doors on July 1, 2017. On July 15, 2017, folks left on this list will be
removed automatically without warning, so please consider these deprecation
notices as a warning for you to switch to Groups.IO.
Regarding Groups.IO version:
* Currently I and Jamie are owners, with moderators being Noelia and
Derek. There is a proposal to elevate James Scholes to moderator position.
* As you can see from above, respected reviewers will serve as
moderators. This may include user reviewers in the future. There might be a
cap on how many owners and moderators will be present (about two owners and
three to four mods would be sufficient for now).
* In case of billing, I am listed as the person responsible for
paying for services if the need arises. For now, the groups.IO forum will
not utilize additional services and benefits offered by Groups.IO.
* If you want to see commits from various add-on repositories,
please do NOT subscribe to nvda-addons-commits list on Freelists anymore -
you should subscribe to commits subgroup on Groups.IO forum instead.
* An add-ons registry database will be used on Groups.IO forum to
keep track of add-on names, authors, versions and review notes, and only
reviewers will be able to modify it.
