The reason we cannot find the download link is that you need to toggle
navigation to see it, and this button is not very obviously involved
in common links. I mean there are links on the non navigation page,so
who would expect this to be the way to get at the download link?
surely show and hid navigation would be better, and in any case the
toggle button is a bit feisty in that sometimes it toggles twice and
sometimes its ok.
Maybe navigation on by default should be the norm, or do away with it
completely and put the article and the links on the one home page.

Just go to the page for the addon. Now press nvda key plus f7. Now
arrow down until you hear download and hit enter. Then tab until you
hear download and hit enter. You should now have the add on.

Could I ask a stupid question?
I'll take that as a yes!

Where IS the download button/links it a secret?
Cos if you go to the site it just gives you the run around.

OK, though we can review NV Access code too. This is open source
and its potential.
I think the add-on could be posted in add-ons under development
without your note and so translators can borrow translations, but I
know you want people can enjoy add-ons and really you are an active
member, creator even of this list.
Cheers.

Hi,
It's done - I added a note saying the add-on is under community
review. It
is under stable tag, as this add-on went through beta testing,
which is a
form of review by users.
For anyone interested in reviewing the code, it can be found at:
http://github.com/nvdaremote/nvdaremote
For add-ons from NV Access, I think they can bypass review phase,
as they
were tested by users and the code is trustworthy.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi, I think we should try to find reviewers for each add-on posted
on our
website, at least in stable add-ons section. One of the authors of
the
add-on has said it can be reviewed, and NV Access add-ons ideally
should be
reviewed too. They have a ticket system who allows even NVDA's core
revision, and there is a ticket asking to include this feature
(even remote
access with NVDA and braille). It's understandable and good that
NV Access
endorses this add-on, but they don't discourage people to review
add-ons and
their own code.
I think this is a very important add-on, and very good developers
as you ask
people to reviw add-ons. Then, whatever add-on could by-pass the
process.
You can post the add-on under stable add-ons if you want, but then
we should
tell people that it isn't reviewed yet.
Another possibility is to delete the revision process and that
whatever
add-on can be posted on the website.
Thanks.

Hi all,

As this is an add-on that has received wide coverage and since NV
Access has endorsed it, I’d like to propose that NVDA Remote
add-on be
given exception to community review process. In other words, once we
find out if messages can be translated, we’ll send the strings
out to
translators and will have the add-on listed on the official add-ons
website.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph

Hi there,

I'm writing to happily inform you that the NVDA Remote Access add-on
has been released!

After our successful crowdfunding campaign, Tyler and I created
something which we are very proud of, and we can't wait until you
get
to use it.

The add-on, as well as supporting documentation and source code are
all available from the add-on's website: http://NVDARemote.com

From this point forward, the add-on source code is available for
review and open to contributions from members of the community.

As one of the first demonstrations of crowdfunded accessibility as a
public good, this entire project has been an incredible success. We
were able to raise the necessary funds, develop the software, and
are
now super pleased to release it free and open source for everyone to
enjoy.

Thank you for all you have done to make this awesome day a reality.
