Subject: Announcement - Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grants - 
Limited Term SES Opportunity

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is announcing the attached 
opportunity for a Limited Term Senior Executive Service (SES) Appointment to 
serve as the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Grants, not to 
exceed three years, while the current Associate DAS is assigned during this 
period to support a Department-wide effort.  The SES is an elite group of 
senior government leaders who possess broad experience and the strong skills to 
lead across organizations.  As a Limited Term SES member, the incumbent will 
influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal 
government and lead the next generation of public servants.

This position is organized under the Assistant Secretary for Financial 
Resources’ (ASFR) Office of Grants and Acquisition Policy and Accountability 
(OGAPA).  OGAPA provides Department-wide leadership and management in the areas 
of grants and acquisition management through policy development, data systems 
operations and analysis, performance measurement, oversight, and workforce 
training, development, and certification.  The Associate DAS for Grants is 
responsible for Department-wide leadership in the areas of: Grant policy, 
Grants oversight and evaluation, and Grants systems management and 
coordination.  In addition, this Division manages, on behalf of the federal 
government, Grants.gov.
