PRESS RELEASE   NSBE Region II Professional Development Conference


Region II of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is hosting a 
Professional Development Conference (PDC) in the historic city of Baltimore, 
Maryland from Friday, November 11 - Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the 
Renaissance  Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. The theme is "THE NSBE BLUEPRINT - 
Leadership, Teamwork, Inspiration, and Motivation", and the mission of the NSBE 
is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers, who excel 
academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.


The conference is designed to appeal to science and engineering professionals 
within NSBE and industry. PDC seminars are focused on Technical Development, 
Professional Development, and Work/Life Balance. Some of the seminars offered 
include:  Security Strategies and Web Applications and Social Networking; The 
Secret Formula to Success: Understanding the Importance of P.I.E. - 
Performance, Image and Exposure; Climbing Everest and Leading the Way; 
Transitioning from Technical/Research to Management; and a Meeting of the MINDS 
- Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology Future Workforce Needs 
roundtable.


In an effort to strengthen our relationship to the community and industry, we 
are also hosting a Science, Technology,  Engineering, and Mathematics Forum 
(STEM) "Meeting Tomorrow's Challenges Today" and an IT Security Forum "Future 
Outlook on Risk and IT Security."  These forums will take place on Friday, 
November 11th - the STEM Forum in the morning, and the IT Forum in the 
afternoon.  Both forums are open to PDC attendees and all educational,
