Founded in 1821, GW is the largest institution of higher education in the

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an area of specialization and eight (8) years of relevant 
experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for an equivalent 
combination of education, training and experience.

Desired Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or higher degree (MA, Ed.D., Ph.D., JD) with at least 8 years of 
significant experience and record of responsible management of education 
research and evaluation oriented to policy and practice. Additionally the 
candidate should have professional experiences that demonstrate:
*      Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
*      Proven track record in public and private sector fundraising and 
willingness and ability to craft long-term funding strategy
*      Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and engage 
with multiple communities and interest groups
*      Sufficient fluency in the technical aspects of empirical research to 
provide guidance and quality assurance for consortium activities and products
JOB DUTIES
*      Oversees strategic development of D.C. Education Consortium for Research 
and Evaluation (DC-EdCORE) research and policy activities.
*      Develops research agendas with the DC-EdCORE Steering Committee, 
Partners Committee, and the leadership of the Graduate School of Education and 
Human Development.
*      Initiates and manages budgets for activities supported by government, 
university and foundation funding.
*      Manages ongoing relationship with the National Research Council 
(National Academies) standing committee on DC schools evaluation.
*      Develops and strengthens engagement with current and potential 
grant-making and philanthropic organizations.
*      Supports and manages priority setting development of memoranda of 
understanding with research partners for studies in which they have major 
roles, and allocation of resources to support research and evaluation 
activities.
*      Leads ongoing, two-way communication with a broad base of stakeholders 
and policymakers in order to draw on their insights and concerns and to 
communicate DC-EdCORE findings in ways that are accessible, timely, and 
relevant to them.
*      Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific 
duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are 
logically related to the position.
