Subject: North Downs mailing list: membership cards
Old lags will be aware that the Club has, until recently, issued members with
two sorts of membership card relating to North Downs (in addition to the BMFA's
confirmation of BMFA membership): blue laminated A4 sheets for display in the
member's car window whilst on the field + credit-card sized card for the wallet.
This year, with the move of club as well as BMFA portal onto the BMFA online
portal, I've let hard copy fall away and not produced new North Downs cards.
But it would be better to regularise this rather than just ignored it and -
having spoken to John and Mike H - I'm proposing this:
* Blue laminated A4 sheets
* We should resume use and everyone display them on the field
* I'll produce the cards for new members (and any older member who's
lost theirs just let me know and I'll run you one off.
(Use of these cards is in our rules. Idea for them came from the field owners,
who are hopefully going to be more in evidence at the field sorting the
entrance once the harvest is in and weather suitable. Also, we have a number of
new members and it will help to ensure everyone knows everyone to resume the
use of these cards.)
* Credit-card sized cards
* Let's just drop these.
(They seem to serve no purpose. Most existing members did not collect their
cards for this year. They are awkward and time-consuming to produce - though
that would not be a problem if there were any point in them!)

And whilst I'm writing, may I remind you that the summer barbecue and the sale
of the late Norman Eyers' gear are scheduled for 4 Aug - more detail nearer
the time.
