Aside from the pros and cons of NextDoor, this thread has made me think about
spreading the word about the North Takoma ListServ.
We need to remember to tell new neighbors about this neighborhood platform. I
know many do inform new neighbors, but I’m sure we still miss telling some.
Additionally, I expect there are quite a few long-term neighbors who are
unaware of its existence.
One suggestion is to think about nearby neighbors whose names you never see
make comments and ask them if they are aware of the North Takoma group.
It’s my understanding that Mark Verschell is still the Administrator and one
requests joining the group by emailing him at mav9@xxxxxxx. Let me know if I
am wrong.
When we were part of Yahoo Groups, there was a notice at the bottom of each
email, informing recipients of this contact. Mark, is it possible to have your
contact info/relevant info included with each email?
For those who don’t know...
EMAIL with NEW TOPIC—If you want to start a new subject, click on:
Reply-To: north-takoma@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
One of the options offered is "New Email."
If you want to respond just to the individual sending an email, click the
individual’s name and copy that address. If you want to retain the email
content, hit reply, delete the north-takoma address and paste in the
individual’s address.

I would be cautious of this email. I know nothing about Nextdoor, but the name
in the email is our neighbor who is 13 years old and has gone by a different
name for probably the last 2 years or more. Seems odd. Maybe some kind of
fishing.

Does anyone know anything about this listserve?
